Kendall-Jackson: The Preferred Wine of the Kentucky Derby
Celebrate the #KYDerby with Kendall-Jackson
We are thrilled to announce that for the second year, Kendall-Jackson is the “Preferred Wine of the Kentucky Derby® and Churchill Downs.” This year marks the 148th Run for the Roses taking place on Saturday, May 7, 2022.
Those close to the Jackson family may be familiar with founder Jess Jackson's lifelong love for the sport of horse racing. At the tender age of eight, Jackson watched famed racehorse Seabiscuit win the 1938 Bay Meadows Handicap. The memory of that first race propelled Jackson to establish Stonestreet Farm, a 1,800-acre Bluegrass stable in Kentucky, in 2005. Stonestreet Farm quickly became one of the country's most prestigious racing operations. Today, it is recognized as the leading breeder of award-winning Thoroughbreds in North America. Barbara Banke, Jackson’s wife and chairman of Kendall-Jackson carries forward the legacy by overseeing Stonestreet Farm and creating our winery's relationship with the Kentucky Derby. Wine for the win!
While some fans sip on bourbon, wine is our drink of choice on Derby day. To celebrate, we’re offering wine enthusiasts and sports fans two special bottlings featuring the best of California's coastal wine-growing regions. Blending our family's legacy of award-winning winemaking and Thoroughbred horse racing, we are thrilled to announce two commemorative wines: our 2020 Mendocino County Chardonnay and the 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. These bottles are limited-edition and will go fast so be sure to race to find them before Derby Day at a store near you or online at kj.com. Luck enough to be in Kentucky?
