How to Create a Wine Bar In Any Space
When throwing a party of any kind, I like to make sure that there is a dedicated drink area, stocked and ready to go. I also like to make this area easily accessible, but not necessarily in the middle of everything. While bar carts are all the rage in the design world, not everyone has the space for one. That's why I'm showing you how to create a wine bar in any space. I decided to turn our kitchen shelves into our wine bar for our recent Friendsgiving party. Normally, these shelves hold our everyday plates and bowls but for the party I switched them out with all of my wine glasses to make them available for my guests. This is something that could be done on an existing end table, console or dresser in your living, dining or kitchen area. By simply removing your existing decor and creating a designated area you instantly create a party vibe that your guests will truly enjoy.
Having a variety of wine glasses makes it easy for your guests to make their choices. While I encouraged my guests to try various wines (in their correct glasses) to pair with our Friendsgiving appetizers, I also want my guests to be comfortable with their glass. So, I like to have traditional options as well as stemless to ensure everyone will have their glass of choice. While you can bring out the crystal for parties, I feel more comfortable using more affordable options. There are so many available on the market today that you don't have to break the bank to have a collection ready for any soiree! Some other key elements to be sure to have on hand would be a wine key, a decanter and even a bottle stopper. Here is a little drawing showing how I grouped my glasses and created the wine bar for this particular event.
The obvious objective for any get together is for everyone to have a great time, including you as the host. By grouping these designated areas your guests feel more comfortable serving themselves and this allows you to enjoy your party as well. This works for wine, appetizers, desserts, etc... these areas also keep your guests moving throughout instead of simply congregating in one space. With a little preparation it can be a breeze to make your next event an amazing one.
