Hi everyone! It’s Molly from my name is yeh here with a recipe that’s perfect for your summer grill parties. I’m typically one to go for the burgers and hot dogs when I’m hosting a grill party, but I recently had a life changing steak salad at a restaurant that I couldn’t stop dreaming about. It had all of my favorite things in it: cheese, tomatoes, bacon, big chewy croutons. So I’ve set out to recreate it just for you, with a honey dijon dressing that lends a perfect amount of sweet and sourness to this delightfully refreshing (yet filling!) salad.
So invite your friends over, throw some steaks on the grill, pour some Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Pinot Noir, and you’ve got yourself a party!

Ingredients
Steak
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 12 oz strip steak
- Kosher salt
- Black Pepper
- ¼ cup olive oil
Dressing
- ½ shallot, minced
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 tb white wine vinegar
- 1 tb dijon mustard
- 1 tb honey
- Kosher salt
- Black pepper
Salad
- 8 oz fresh spinach
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved and lightly salted
- ½ shallot, thinly sliced
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
- 2 thick slices multigrain bread, grilled and chopped into cubes, or store-bought croutons
- Parmesan cheese
Â
Instructions
- Rub the minced garlic all over the steak. Sprinkle both sides with a good pinch of salt and a few turns of pepper. Place in a dish and pour the olive oil over it. Cover and let marinate for 1 hour (up to 4 hours) in the fridge. Remove it from the fridge about 15 minutes before you're going to cook it. Light a grill to high and then cook the steak on one side, occasionally brushing it with marinade, until it gets grill marks, 4-5 minutes, and then flip it and cook on the other side until desired doneness, 4-7 minutes. Remove it and let it sit for 10 minutes. Slice into bite-sized strips.
- To make the dressing, whisk all ingredients together.
- To assemble the salad, place the spinach, tomatoes, shallot, bacon, and croutons on a platter. Lay the steak over it. Finish with parmesan cheese shavings, and then dress to taste.
- Enjoy!
